Inspired by real Formula race cars, the Asetek SimSports® Forte® Formula Steering Wheel was extensively developed by both professional racers and sim racers alike. The Steering Wheel was designed and engineered to deliver the authentic feel of real racing while also considering the tactile feedback in simulations. With this and further feedback in mind, we started from scratch with the goal of creating the best possible sim racing Formula Steering Wheel—without breaking the budget. We’re excited to present exactly that: the Forte® Formula Steering Wheel!

Many Steering Wheels, whether for sim racing or real motorsport, derive their stability and stiffness from the front plate and grips, often in a closed design (where the two grips are mechanically connected at both ends). However, this often limits size and design options. To ensure maximum stiffness while giving you the freedom to easily swap grips or add clutches, DRS paddles, etc., we use an injection-molded chassis made from a composite of carbon, glass, and plastic. This provides extremely high natural stiffness and strength, complemented by a laser-engraved “forged carbon” surface—without the grips themselves needing to provide stability.

For additional torsional rigidity and a solid interface to the detachable grips, the chassis features a metal inlay (the so-called “Metal Spider Interface”). Altogether, this results in a stable, torsion-resistant Steering Wheel where grips can be easily swapped or upgraded over time—completely according to your preferences! Currently, we offer two grip sizes: the standard size for average hands and an XL version for larger hands.

The ergonomic grips are made from a comfortable, soft, and durable silicone rubber that’s easy to clean and disinfect, providing you with ultimate comfort and control—whether you wear racing gloves or not. Plus, you can easily swap the grips to quickly upgrade color, size, shape, and hardness in the future.

The front of the Steering Wheel consists of a 2 mm thick woven carbon plate, providing an attractive base for all buttons and switches.

With 128 individual input options, the Asetek SimSports® Forte® Formula Steering Wheel offers you the ability to configure and assign all buttons, switches, rotary encoders, and paddles to your needs via our RaceHub™ software. Thanks to 12 push buttons, two 2-way toggle switches, two 7-way “kinky” switches, three rotary encoders with 12 positions each, and six thumb rotary encoders, you can control every setting you want.

All buttons, switches, and rotary controls meet the highest quality standards and are tested for durability and reliability in our automated test facilities, so you can use them daily for many years.

The Forte® Steering Wheel features no less than 49 fully customizable aRGB LEDs, including rev and flag LEDs. This lets you not only personalize the look of your Steering Wheel but also make lightning-fast decisions that can mean the difference between success and failure. Of course, the LEDs can be dimmed, color-adjusted, and individually assigned via RaceHub, with many more features planned.

Each button and LED can be labeled with the included stickers, giving you illuminated markings for every function on your Steering Wheel.

On the back, there are two standard contactless magnetic shift paddles for quick and seamless gear changes. These can easily be upgraded to a dual-clutch setup for perfect race starts and/or to add two additional paddle buttons (e.g., for effortless overtaking or DRS activation). All paddles and their mechanisms, like the chassis itself, are made from ultra-light and stiff carbon composite material.

Highlight: Speed is Everything – the Quick Release
All Asetek SimSports® Steering Wheels feature our own Quick-Release system, as easy to use as a gear change. To detach the Steering Wheel from the base, simply activate a paddle mechanism—and you’re holding the wheel in your hands! Naturally, we avoid wireless connections, batteries that need charging, or fragile cables. Everything is integrated into our easy-to-use, play-free Quick Release.
